Depaul Demontae Herbert, 27

Depaul Demontae Herbert, a 27-year-old black man, was shot and killed Monday, May 20, in the 1700 block of West 84th Place in Manchester Square, according to Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s records.

About 8:45 p.m., Herbert was found slumped over in the driver’s seat of a light-colored Jaguar, said Los Angeles Police Det. Dave Garrido.

Herbert was pronounced dead at the scene at 9:04 p.m., according to coroner’s records.

Police believe that Herbert was sitting in his car when a vehicle pulled up and a person in the other vehicle shot into his car, police said.

The car fled west on West 84th Place. Detectives did not provide a vehicle nor a suspect description.
