Deshawn Dixon, an 18-year-old black man, was fatally shot Tuesday, Aug. 27, in the 9000 block of South San Pedro Street in South L.A., according to the Los Angeles County Coroner’s office.
Dixon was in the area about 10 a.m. when a light-colored sedan pulled up and shots were fired, said LAPD Detective Supervisor Rick Gordon. It is unclear whether a gunman got out of the vehicle or shot from the vehicle, Gordon said.
Dixon was taken to a hospital where he died at 12:02 p.m., said Ed Winter, a spokesman for the coroner’s office.
