Dolores Rodriguez, a 35-year-old Latino, died Monday, Nov. 15, a day after sustaining blunt force trauma near Nadeua Street and Bell Avenue in Florence-Firestone, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.
Rodriguez suffered a blow minutes before 1 a.m. on Nov. 14, according to a Sheriff's Department news release.
He was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead the next day, officials said. According to coroner's records, he sustained head trauma and was possibly struck with a baseball bat.
The Sheriff's Department had no additional information about the case. The Times has contacted investigators and will provide an update as soon as possible.
