Donald Gene Parks Jr. , 34

Donald Gene Parks Jr., a 34-year-old black man, was shot and killed Friday, April 24,  in the 100 block of Platt Street in Long Beach, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Police said that Parks was outside a home with other people shortly after 11:30 p.m. when a person walked up and opened fire at the group.

Parks, who was the only one wounded, was pronounced dead by paramedics at the scene. No one else was injured.
