Donglei Shi, a 31-year-old Asian woman, was found dead Saturday, April 10, in the 200 block of Chapel Avenue in Alhambra, according to sheriff's investigators.
Shi's body was found by a passerby near a flood-control channel in Story Park about 4:30 a.m., authorities said. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Her death was listed as a homicide. The coroner's office has listed the cause of death as asphyxiation, officials said.
