Douglas Osvaldo Centeno, 20

Douglas Centeno, a 20-year-old man, was fatally shot Tuesday, Jan. 24, near Council Street and Beverly Boulevard in Westlake, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Centeno was shot in a crosswalk about 3:15 p.m., the Los Angeles Police Department said.

The attacker or attackers ran away, the LAPD said.

The victim died  at a hospital. Coroner's records show he was shot in the shoulder.

Since January 2007, at least 110 homicides have been reported within two miles of the slaying scene, according to a Times Homicide Report database. The vast majority of those victims died from gunshot wounds.
