Duwan Arvaden McKeever, 24

Duwan Arvaden McKeever, a 24-year-old black man, was shot and killed Saturday, Oct. 5, while sitting in a vehicle near West 105th street and Denker Avenue in Westmont, according to L.A. County coroner’s records.

McKeever was in a parked car with Rodell Revels Jr., 32, about 10 p.m. when a person walked up to the car and shot both men, said Lt. Dave Dolson with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

There was a large party going on nearby, and Dolson said he did not know whether the two men were “coming, going or staying.”

McKeever was pronounced dead in the vehicle at 10:24 p.m. according to coroner’s records.

Revels died of his wounds the following day.
