Dwayne Eric Alexander, 49

Dwayne Alexander, a 49-year-old black man, was stabbed to death Wednesday, March 14, in the 1200 block of North Lodi Place in Hollywood, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Alexander, a counselor, was stabbed multiple times about 4:45 p.m. on the third floor of a job training school, said Karen Rayner of the Los Angeles Police Department.

The victim was taken to a hospital in critical condition. He later died there, Rayner said. Coroner's records show Alexander suffered stab wounds to the face and chest.

 Freddy Leyva, a 22-year-old Latino, was arrested the same day of the incident.

Leyva is being held in lieu of $1-million bail at the Men's Central Jail in downtown. His next court appearance is scheduled for March 26 at the Los Angeles County Superior Court.
