Dwight Caldwell, 25
Dwight Caldwell, a 25-year-old black man, was shot multiple times Saturday, May 2, at 52nd Street and Orange Avenue in Long Beach, according to the Los Angeles County coroner's office.
Caldwell was shot about 1:31 p.m., and died a short time later at a nearby hospital, officials said.
Police said witnesses described the shooters only as African American men who left the scene in a dark-colored car, traveling in an unknown direction on Orange.
"Since the shooting occurred mid-day and on a weekend, it is believed that there are witnesses that have not yet come forward," Long Beach police said in a statement. "Additional witnesses coming forward would greatly assist detectives in solving this crime."
Anyone with information about this killing is asked to call Long Beach Police Department Dets. Russ Moss and Teri Hubert at (562) 570-7244.
