Dylan Clay Baskins, 27

Dylan Clay Baskins, a 27-year-old white man, died Friday, Sept. 6, two days after he was shot near West Melrose Way and Golden Avenue in Long Beach, according to Los Angeles County medical examiner-coroner’s records.

On Sept. 4 at about 11:05 p.m., officers from the Long Beach Police Department responded to a call of gunshots heard in the area, according to a news release from the department.

Officers found Baskins with multiple gunshot wounds in a nearby alley. He was taken to a hospital in critical condition, police said. 

Baskins was pronounced dead on Sept. 6 at 6:35 p.m., according to coroner’s records. 

Police did not have any additional information about the shooting and said the motive remains unknown.
