Eddie L. Mangum, 43

Eddie L. Mangum, a 43-year-old black man, died Thursday, Jan. 14, nearly five years after he was shot in the 10000 block of South Main Street in Broadway-Manchester, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.

On April 28, 2011 about 5:40 p.m., Mangum was inside his vehicle near a liquor store when a Latino walked up and fired a single gunshot into the driver’s side, striking him in the head, said LAPD Det. Dave Garrido.

Mangum was hospitalized until his death on Jan. 14 at 6:21 a.m., according to coroner’s records.
