Edgar Villacorta, 24

Edgar Villacorta, a 24-year-old Latino, was shot and killed Sunday, March 20, near South Hoover Street and West 41st Place in Vermont Square, according to L.A. County coroner’s records and authorities.

About 2:15 p.m., residents in the area reported hearing gunshots, said Los Angeles police Det. Dave Garrido. Officers arrived and found Villacorta in the street. He was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Police are looking for witnesses.
