Edward Eugene Clark, 28

Edward Clark, a 28-year-old black man, was shot and killed by police Wednesday, Dec. 12, in the 4700 block of Don Ricardo Drive in Baldwin Hills/Crenshaw, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Authorities responded to a domestic violence call at 7 p.m. and were met by a woman who said Clark had struck her, said LAPD Officer Cleon Joseph.

When officers entered the home, Clark barricaded himself in a bedroom with two children. An LAPD SWAT team was called and negotiations ensued for hours.

SWAT officers entered the room about 5 a.m. Wednesday and shot the suspect, police said. No officers were injured, Joseph said.

KTLA-TV (Channel 5) reported that Clark was the father of the 6-year-old boy and 3-year-old girl. They were not injured.

The officer-involved shooting is being investigated by the LAPD's Force Investigation Division.
