Ellis Rachal Jr., 44

Ellis Rachal Jr., a 44-year-old black man, died Saturday, March 24, in the 15900 block of Hill Street in La Puente, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Authorities received a 911 call regarding a man down about 4:05 a.m., said Ed Winter, spokesman for the coroner’s office.

When L.A. County sheriff's deputies arrived, they found Rachal on the ground dead. According to coroner's records, Rachal suffered several gunshot wounds to his body.

Winter said it appeared that Rachal's body was dumped in the area and that he may have been shot somewhere else.

He said he had no other details about the case.
