Eloise Elizarraraz, 34

Eloise Elizarraraz, a 34-year-old Latina, was found shot to death Saturday, Jan. 7, near Harding Street and Tripoli Avenue in Sylmar, according to police and Los Angeles County coroner’s records.

Shortly before 9 a.m., Elizarraraz was found on a residential street inside her black BMW with a gunshot wound, said Los Angeles Police Det. Steve Castro.

A registered nurse who lives in the area found Elizarraraz's body and attempted to help, but Elizarraraz was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police believe Elizarraraz, who did not live in the area but had family nearby, was shot about 8:30 a.m. A nearby resident said her daughter heard a gunshot, but police said that neighbors did not call 911, according to KABC.

“We’re working on motive and potential suspects and all that,” Castro said, adding that the department looking for witnesses to the crime.
