Ely Gonzales, a 22-year-old Latino, was shot and killed Thursday, Dec. 15, near 94th Street and Avalon Boulevard in Green Meadows, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.
Authorities responded to radio calls about 9:00 p.m. Nearby citizens heard shots, and a few people saw Gonzales laying on the sidewalk, said LAPD Criminal Gang Homicide Det. M. Hernandez.
The victim was taken to California Hospital Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. According to coroner’s records, Gonzales died from a gunshot wound to the head.
Investigators are pursuing leads, Hernandez said, but no arrests have been made.
