Emilio Luis Robles, 47

Emilio Luis Robles, a 47-year-old Latino, was shot and killed by Los Angeles Police on Tuesday, April 30, in the 1900 block of East 113th Street in Watts, according to Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s records.

Shortly before 11 p.m., officers from the LAPD’s Southeast Division responded to calls of a man with a gun, according to a news release.

As officers drove toward the area, police said, Robles shot at the officers inside their police vehicle.

The officers shot back at Robles, who had moved from his position. More officers arrived, and as Robles pointed his gun at the officers, a second shooting occurred.

No officers were injured. Robles was pronounced dead at the scene. His gun was recovered by police.

On May 19, the LAPD identified the following officers as being involved in the incident: Derrick Ibarra, David Skotte, Richard Garcia, Christian Guereca, Kristopher Espinoza, Shuhei Fuchigami, Anthony Hugoboom, Andre Burton and Ben McPheeters.
