Eronald Deas III, 18

Eronald Deas III, an 18-year-old black man, was shot and killed Sunday, Oct. 6, near East 69th Way and Muriel Avenue in Long Beach, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.

Shortly after 7 p.m., officers from the Long Beach Police Department responded to a call of shots fired and found Deas on a sidewalk with multiple gunshot wounds to his torso, according to a news release from the department.

Deas was pronounced dead at 7:18 p.m. at the scene, according to coroner’s records.

Police said that Deas was walking north across the intersection of East 69th Way and Muriel Avenue when multiple people walked up to him and fired multiple rounds.

Investigators are trying to determine the motive for the shooting.
