Ervin Brown, a 52-year-old black man, was shot and killed April 1 near Buckingham Road and Santa Rosalia Drive in Baldwin Hills/Crenshaw, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.

About 3 a.m., Brown was standing on the corner when a vehicle approached him and a person fired multiple gunshots, said Det. Dave Garrido of the Los Angeles Police Department. It is unknown if the gunman got out of the car or opened fire from inside the vehicle.

Brown was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 10:24 a.m., according to coroner’s records.
