Lashown Fils, 26

Lashown Fils, a 26-year-old black man, was fatally shot Wednesday, Jan. 11, in the 200 block of West 14th Street in Long Beach, according to the Long Beach Police Department.

Officers responded to a call about a shooting about 3:55 a.m., according to a Long Beach Police Department news release.

When authorities arrived, they found Fils injured in the street. Paramedics were called, and the victim was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead a few hours later, officials said.

Coroner's records show Fils died from a gunshot wound to the stomach.

Investigators said the victim had no gang affiliation, and a motive for the shooting remains unknown.
