Former security guard charged with killing supervisor is due in court

A former security guard charged with killing his supervisor at a Marina Del Rey apartment complex is due in court Wednesday, according to the Los Angeles County district attorney’s office.

Byron Keith Street, 47, has been charged with one count of murder with a special circumstance allegation that the murder was committed during a burglary. Street is due in court Wednesday for an arraignment hearing. Street also faces three counts of vandalism of property worth over $400.

Street worked as a security guard at an upscale apartment complex but was suspended by Patrick Odoi-Kyene, 47, his supervisor, for bringing his girlfriend to work.

Prosecutors say Street fatally shot Odoi-Kyene on Dec. 30.

Street and his girlfriend, Ann Una Bailey, 23, pleaded not guilty Jan. 3 to one count each of false impersonation and five counts of theft, according to the district attorney’s office. Street also faces one count of counterfeiting. Street is being held without bail; Bailey is being held on $150,000 bail.

The two were arrested by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department on Dec. 31, according to online records.
