Francisco Gomez, 41

Francisco Gomez, a 41-year-old Latino, was shot and killed Saturday,  April 1, in the 5100 block of Venice Boulevard in Mid-City, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.

Police responded about 2 a.m. to a call of a shooting inside a home in the area, according to a news release from the Los Angeles Police Department.

Officers found Gomez inside with gunshot wounds. Gomez was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 2:50 a.m., according to coroner’s records.

Witnesses told police that a group of men had been drinking inside a home when a person opened fire, killing Gomez.
