Francisco Javier Figueroa Jr., 43

Francisco Javier Figueroa Jr., a 43-year-old Latino, was fatally shot Sunday, May 28, in the 4000 block of Hill Street in Huntington Park, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records. 

Huntington Park police received a call about 9 p.m. reporting gunshots fired in the area and an unresponsive man, according to coroner’s records. Upon arriving, officers found Figueroa slumped against the back of a car in front of a residence with a gunshot wound to his back.

He was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead at 10:05 p.m., according to coroner’s records. 

In a subsequent investigation, officers found a spent 9-millimeter shell at the scene. Witnesses told police that they heard arguing prior to the shooting. Police are following all leads and looking for suspects.
