Francisco Martinez, 47
Francisco Martinez, a 47-year-old Latino man, died from severe head injuries at Providence Holy Cross Medical Center at 3:35 a.m. Sunday, March 16.
Martinez, a fruit vendor, was beaten in the parking lot of an Arco gas station at 14903 Victory Blvd. in Van Nuys about 10 p.m. March 8. A passerby found Martinez and called 911.
The motive for the beating is still unknown, said Det. James Nuttall with the LAPD's Van Nuys Division. Martinez had been in intensive care and critical care before he died.
