Francisco Trejo Jr., a 19-year-old Latino, was fatally shot Monday, Oct. 16, near Foothill Boulevard and Terra Bella Street in Lake View Terrace, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.

About 2:25 p.m., officers from the LAPD’s Foothill Division responded to a shots fired in the area and found “evidence of a shooting” at the intersection, according to a statement provided by the Los Angeles Police Department.

Trejo was found with gunshot wounds in his vehicle, a dark-colored GMC Yukon, about a block away, at Osbourne Street and Foothill Boulevard.

Trejo was stopped at a red light when a car pulled up on the passenger side and shot into the victim's vehicle, police said. Trejo tried to drive away and his vehicle crashed into the Discovery Cube, a children’s museum, police said.

The suspect was described as a heavy-set Latino in a blue Toyota Camry, possibly a model from 2004 to 2009.
