Frank Burnell Taylor (2014-07-01)

Frank Burnell Taylor, a 35-year-old Latino, was shot and killed Tuesday, July 1, in the 500 block of South Maple Avenue in Montebello, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.

Around 7:15 p.m., Taylor was walking down the street when a gray Chevy pickup truck pulled alongside him, said Capt. Luis Lopez with the Montebello Police Department.

The driver of the truck got out of the vehicle and fired several shots at Taylor, Lopez said. Another person was also in the truck.

The gunman and Taylor were involved in a personal dispute over “street business,” Lopez said. He declined to elaborate.

On July 9, police arrested Michael Joseph Fimbres, a 44-year-old Latino, on a probation violation. Fimbres is believed to be connected to the killing, Lopez said.

Anyone with information is asked to call Montebello Police Det. Alfred Martinez at (323) 887-1248. Those who wish to remain anonymous can call Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-8477.
