A story for every victim

Frank Herrera, 43

Frank Herrera, a 43-year-old Latino, was found dead Saturday, Sept. 14, near 47th Street and Central Avenue in Central-Alameda, according to L.A. County coroner’s records.

Herrera was discovered about 8:15 p.m. in the backseat of his car, said LAPD Det. Kelle Baitx in an email.

It appeared that the man had been strangled at a different location and driven to where he was discovered, Baitx said.

He was pronounced dead at 9:05 p.m. at the scene, said coroner’s spokesman Ed Winter.

The cause of death has been deferred, Winter said.
