Frank Noel Galvan, 34

Frank Noel "Chito" Galvan, a 34-year-old Latino, was fatally shot on Saturday, March 23, near the corner of 95th and Juniper Streets in the Florence-Firestone area of South Los Angeles, according to Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner records. 

Galvan was walking in his neighborhood around 2:40 p.m. when  he was shot, according to Los Angeles County Sheriff's Lt. Rodney Moore. 

Deputies were called to the scene regarding a gunshot victim and found Galvan with a gunshot wound, Moore said. 

Galvan was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead at 4:12 p.m., according to coroner's records. The cause of death was listed as a gunshot wound to the torso. 

Investigators don't have any information about the gunman or a motive for the shooting, Moore said. 

An online fundraiser has been started "to help bring some peace" to Galvan's parents and siblings, according to the webpage.
