Frankie Garcia, 20

Frankie Garcia, a 20-year-old Latina, was shot and killed Sunday, Dec. 18, in the 8800 block of Villa Drive in Whittier, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Authorities responded to a 911 call at 1:17 a.m. and found the victim shot and lying on the ground. Garcia was taken to County-USC Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead about 5 a.m.

According to coroner’s records, Garcia died of multiple gunshot wounds.

“At this time, we’re calling it gang-related,” said Whittier police Lt. Ellis Bryan. There were witnesses, and investigators are pursuing several leads, he said. No arrests have been made.

Officials did not provide any additional information about the case.
