Gerardo Gomez, 23
Gerardo Gomez, a 23-year-old Latino, was shot and killed Sunday, Jan. 18 in the 4100 block of West 105th Street in Lennox, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
About 9 p.m., Gomez was moving his car off the street when another vehicle drove up. Two men from the car confronted the victim and wanted to know whether he was a gang member, said Deputy Kevin Moody with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
When one of the men began fighting with the victim, the other shot him. The assailants got back in the car and drove east on West 105th Street.
Gomez was pronounced dead at 9:06 p.m. at the scene, according to coroner’s records.
