A story for every victim

Griselda Marcedo, 15

Griselda Marcedo, a 15-year-old Latino girl, was shot multiple times while standing on a sidewalk in East Los Angeles with her 21-year-old brother shortly before 12:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 17, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

Sheriff's detectives said they had learned that a light-colored car pulled up to the siblings in the 600 block of South Eastman Avenue. Both Griselda and her brother spoke to the people in the car, and then a passenger in the car pulled out a handgun and shot her multiple times in the upper body. Her brother was shot once in the leg.

They were both taken to a hospital, where Griselda was pronounced dead. Her brother was treated and released.

Anyone with information about what happened is asked to call sheriff's homicide detectives at (323) 890-5500.
