Guillermo Elisea Jr., 23

Guillermo Elisea Jr., a 23-year-old Latino, was shot and killed Tuesday, May 10, in the 3400 block of Tenaya Avenue in South Gate, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Sheriff's deputies responded to a shots fired call about 12:43 a.m., said Ed Winter, spokesman for the coroner's office.

When authorities arrived, they found Elisea down in front of an apartment building with a gunshot wound to the torso. He was taken to a hospital where he died at 1:07 a.m., Winter said.
