Guillermo Iturralde, a 26-year-old Latino, was shot and killed Sunday, Sept. 28, near Walnut Avenue and East 11th Street in Long Beach, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.

Iturralde was walking down the street about 1:25 a.m. when a person in a vehicle fired at him and drove away, according to a news release from the Long Beach Police Department.

Iturralde was pronounced dead at 1:37 a.m. in the street, according to coroner’s records. Police said he was not a gang member.

Rest in peace primo. Thank you for all the unselfish ways you always helped the entire family. From steeping up and helping your mom raise all your brothers and sisters to recently helping me fix up this house that my family now calls a home. I think you from the bottom of my heart. You were a good man that always worked hard and supported family threw love money and help. I will remember the late nights working on my floors and getting them right. I will remember the smile you had that brightened up our day. I will remember the twisted sense of humor you had that was always in good fun. you will be missed but not forgotten. God had a plan for you. you took his hand and went with him. I know you are in heaven because you believed in God. I know you have risen in heaven and are waiting for the rest of the family. we will get there and be with all of you when it is our turn. To the person that murdered my cousin if you are reading this know that you killed the wrong guy. I don't know what was going threw your mind if you were just driving threw looking for a mexican gang member. which he was not. We as a family having been praying for you. we are not a raciest family and your act of racism will not change that. we don't know why you picked my cousin. What things you are going threw in life what things you have been threw. we ask god to have mercy on your soul and that he can turn the light on for you so that you may see how great of a sin you have committed. I ask that he forgive you as I have done. I ask that you turn your life around and seek God. step up and be a man and turn your self in. that is when the healing of your soul will start.
