Hakim Payton Kent, 43

Hakim Payton Kent, a 43-year-old black man, was shot and killed Wednesday, May 6, in the 700 block of North La Brea Avenue in Inglewood, according to Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner's records.

About 6:45 p.m., officers from the Inglewood Police Department were called to tend to a shooting victim in the area, according to a news release from the department.

Officers found Kent on the ground with gunshot wounds. 

Kent was pronounced dead at the scene. Police did not release additional information about the shooting.
