Hollywood man sentenced in killing of father
A Hollywood man was sentenced Feb. 10, 2012, to state prison for the 2010 killing of his father, according to the Los Angeles County district attorney’s office.
Jonathan Martinez Pedraza, 26, was sentenced to 30 years to life for the beating death of Miguel Pedraza at an Irwindale storage facility.
On Feb. 3, 2012, after about two hours of deliberations, a jury convicted Pedraza of one count each of first-degree murder and felony vandalism, and two misdemeanor counts of hit-and-run driving.
Pedraza, a 62-year-old Latino, was found bludgeoned to death Sept. 3, 2010, in the 4300 block of Irwindale Avenue in Irwindale, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
According to the prosecutor, Pedraza delivered at least five blows to his father’s head, causing multiple lacerations and a fractured skull.
