Hugo Alberto Ortiz, 34

Hugo Ortiz, a 34-year-old Latino, was fatally shot Saturday, Dec. 17, in the 6500 block of Suva Street in Bell Gardens, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

The shooting occurred about 5:26 p.m. Ortiz was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Sheriff's officials said Ortiz was attacked by another man inside his garage. After a struggle, the suspect shot the victim in the upper torso.

Officials did not have a description of the suspect and said the relationship between the two men was unknown.

To my brother hugo I think about everyday I can remember when I was hopeless one word from your heart would revive my soul. Im missing you brother. There is no better brother than a brother that would lay his life down for his brother. You are that brother. I'm thankful for you Hugo. You where always there for me with no money no car no ideas. All you had was the will to help out who you loved. Right here homie in my heart is where I keep you. My memories talking with you laughing with you walking with you I will never forget. I know you are in paradise cause the lord remembered how you loved your neighbor the lord saw the affection you gave to your wife you always made time to show your children that you love them. You left me to soon my brother. When it comes time for me to give up my spirit greet me at that the gate brother led me to my father. So we can be reunited in our spirit and in the truthfulness of gods word.

Its time to turn away and start a new day. It seems it was just a dream, that happened one night in a delerious plight. Its time to turn away and let what ever may be, happen. Priorities and feelings always change, even though they may not be right. But they are things that even the strongest can't fight. It is time to turn away and take a different street or at least hope the same dream doesn't repeat. So I'll try to pretend the dream never happened, it was never there, and from now on, I just don't care. But everyone knows, that running away is never the answer, and one never really can completely forget. Turning away is just away of letting things, bit by bit, fade away. I wished you should of listened to me the day before. Your so called friends don't want to help you. You know how the game is. Justice will be served some day. Watch after Eliana for me and I'll see you when I get there.
