Husband sentenced to two life sentences in state prison

Kevin Adonis Forrest, a 43-year-old white man, was sentenced Dec. 9 to two life sentences in state prison, according to the Los Angeles County district attorney’s office.

Forrest was convicted on Sept. 2, 2013, of shooting and stabbing his wife of 18 years, according to Deputy Dist. Atty. Janis Johnson.

On Feb. 27, 2013, Forrest fatally shot and stabbed his wife, Kathleen Ann Forrest, 59. Forrest then tried to dismember her body but was unsuccessful, Johnson said.

During the trial, Kevin Forrest testified that his wife had been verbally abusive to him. He said he was drunk that day and did not remember killing her or trying to dismember her. Four days after the killing, he called police and told them he had killed his wife, according to prosecutors.

Police went to the Long Beach home and found the woman’s body. They also found photos taken by Kevin Forrest of the body.
