Ignacio Isaias Garcia Lopez, a 24-year-old Latino, was fatally wounded Saturday, Aug. 10, in the 300 block of Orchid Lane in Pomona, according to L.A. County coroner’s records.
Garcia Lopez was walking in an alley with an 18-year-old, whom police did not identify, when a gunman opened fire. Both men were struck repeatedly.
Garcia Lopez died in the alley at 11:44 p.m., according to coroner’s records.
The teen managed to run a short distance to a courtyard before collapsing. Medics airlifted him to Los Angeles County-USC Medical Center, where he underwent surgery, police said in a statement.
His condition was not known.
