Jackie Vargas, 31, a Latino man, was fatally shot in a car-to-car shooting in the 4100 block of Durfee Avenue in El Monte about 11:37 p.m. Friday, Aug. 29.

L.A. County Sheriff's Department officials said Vargas was shot several times in the upper torso. He died at the scene. Authorities were searching for two Latino men in a white Ford F-150 pickup truck.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call detectives from the L.A. County Sheriff's homicide bureau at (323) 890-5500.

Here I am on this Homicide Blog starting off this year 1/2/2019. I will put this plea out there, again and again. My nephew Vincent Bejar was MURDERED on Monday, September 1, 2008 (Labor Day) on the 15000 block of Eucalyptus Street in the City of Bellflower, while walking through a residential neighborhood. COWARDS in a vehicle are responsible for the MURDER of MY Nephew!! The day you took my nephew's life... God has your name and knows the evil you commited!
