Jairo Pineda, an 18-year-old Latino, was stabbed to death Saturday, June 23, in the 400 block of West Palm Street in Compton, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.
Sheriff's officials said Pineda was stabbed and taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Coroner's records show he suffered a stab wound to the chest and may had been struck in the head with a baseball bat.
Authorities said four individuals were being detained in connection with the attack pending further investigation.
