James Ryan Dominguez, 25

James Dominguez, a 25-year-old Latino, was shot and killed Wednesday, May 18, near Wilmington Boulevard and Pacific Coast Highway in Wilmington, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Police received a shooting call about 5:45 p.m., according to an LAPD news release.

When authorities arrived, they found Dominguez slumped inside a car. Dominguez had been shot several times and the car he was traveling in had hit a fire hydrant, police said.

Paramedics were called and Dominguez was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

During the investigation, detectives learned Dominguez was driving in his car north on Wilmington Boulevard near Pacific Coast Highway when a red car drove alongside him.

Someone in the red car pulled out a gun and shot several times into Dominguez’ vehicle, hitting him. Authorities said Dominguez’s car continued north through the intersection and stopped after hitting a fire hydrant on the northwest corner.

The shooter was last seen driving southbound on Wilmington Boulevard.

No arrests have been made. The motive for the shooting remains unknown.

First off everyone is entitled to thier fair opinion... As for Cheryl Arensberg aka "cheri" I am lost at what your intensions are behind that computer of yours. Are you one to dictate deceitful lies about how good of a person james was? Get off you rear-end and preach to some of the hoodlum friends james was often around or your nephew (jason duda). One can not sit behind a computer and justify him as an angel. You seem to be an educated woman with so much to say, feel free to actively get invovled in the community you seem seem to know so much about. With time on your hands make that your new hobbie instead preaching over the net. I qoute your statement "a 35 year career working with disenfranchised youth, many of which were in fact gang members and the last person who would advocate any kind of violence" you clearly contridict your statement by "Bad things only happen to those who ask for it". What makes you certain james did not ask for it? You clearly were not in james presence at all times. I am appalled that a woman your age, educated, experienced, widowed mother, and aunt has NO significance in her nephews life. One can say you too have NO human compassion. Ignorance and bias is spoken out of your own mouth, choose your words wisely for you look unintelligent! I question if your an alumni of USC? Such a prestigious school yet such a preposterous and senseless mouth of yours.

The outrage is brewing, it will bubble over after the
shock wears off. Friends and family are so terribly
devastated that it is all they can do to try and function. There is plenty of outrage. I sit 300 miles away and pray everyday that those responsible are
arrested soon. I think about his little boy after being told that daddy went to heaven, looking into the night sky and saying "good nite daddy". I think about his mother crying herself to sleep only to wake up and be hit again with the horror of confronting that a sub human of our species intentionally took her only child. I think about his grandparents already weary from age feeling helpless to comfort their daughter because they too are so devasted. There is outrage................
