Los Angeles police are asking for the public's help in identifying a woman who died after being set on fire in the 1300 block of E. 15th Street about 7 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 11.

Firefighters discovered the severely burned body of the woman, who was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim is believed to be Asian or Latino and in her late teens to mid-20s.

Police released a picture of a homemade tattoo on the back of the victim's neck, featuring the name "Carlos" surrounded by swirls. Investigators ask that anyone with information call the Newton area homicide division at (323) 846-6556.
