Jarrod Brian Hall, a 48-year-old black man, was shot and killed Saturday, Aug. 23 as he was in a car going south on the 110 Freeway approaching West 51st Street in Vermont Square, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
About 8:30 p.m., Hall and two others were in a sedan going south on the 110 Freeway when a person in another vehicle fired multiple shots in their direction, LAPD Det. Dave Garrido said.
The people in the car noticed that Hall was wounded and exited the freeway, Garrido said.
The sedan then stopped at a gas station in the 400 block of West Florence Avenue, where an employee called 911.
Hall was pronounced dead at the scene at 8:52 p.m., according to coroner’s records. No one else was injured in the shooting.
