Jayquan Dion Johnson, 16

Jayquan Johnson, a 16-year-old black youth, was fatally shot in the 5100 block of Pickford Street at 9:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 20. The teenager, a 10th-grader at Hamilton High School, was hit once and pronounced dead at a hospital.

LAPD investigators said Johnson was standing on the sidewalk with friends when a vehicle with several suspects inside pulled up and fired multiple shots. Those in the group ran for cover, but one of the bullets struck Johnson. The suspects fled in the car, striking parked vehicles as they sped away.

yeah to all the people who have negative things to say about my son you really didnt know him he was a loving and caring person and his smile would light up any room he was very sweet and loved people very much . and i just wish that i could get justice for his murder but the police dont give a damn about him just another black boy dead my son didnt get any news time because the police said they didnt want the person who did it to flee i called the detectives every day for two years and they dont have a clue who killed my son and if they would have allowed news to tell the story they would have found the killers cause my son was loved by many even the teachers at hamilton high school loved my son it is not fair that the killers are still living their lives and my son life was cut real short he had a loving family who misses him so much and a nephew who lost not only his uncle but his father as well he ask for him til this day so sad i will hurt forever

dangg i dont know what made me search your name this time of night but for some reason your really on my mind its just somethings you cant get over and im sorry bad things happen to good people .but jayquan isnt the type of person all you people are making him out to be , he would give you his last and no matter how you were feeling best believe he can put a smile on your face , the type of person you can depend on , soo dont assume unless you PERSONALLY know someone , you all dont kn0w the life we live , i can assure you that anyone who attended school n LAUSD knows more than 5 people who died to gang violence, most of the time thee wrong ppl , in the wrong place , at the wrong time.. smh, but mann i really cant stop the tears from rolling down my face but i know hes in a wayy better place , living it up .. soo save me a spot close to you cuhz when my dayss are up im coming to make up for lost time .. i love you jay jay .. take care of things up there . and we got things down here
