Jennifer Marie Ball, 36
Jennifer Ball, a 36-year-old white woman, was found beaten to death Tuesday, Sept. 5, under the South Figueroa Street overpass, south of West Griffith Street in Carson, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.
A person walking early that morning saw Ball lying on the Dominguez Channel Bike Path, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Lt. Joe Mendoza said.
The pedestrian called 911, and paramedics pronounced Ball dead at the scene at 7:14 a.m., according to coroner’s records. The cause of death was listed as blunt force trauma to the head.
Investigators think Ball was homeless and was living along the channel, Mendoza said. No weapon was found, and authorities have no motive for the killing.
