Jerry Dewayne Holman III, a 24-year-old black man, was fatally shot Saturday, February 9, in the 1000 block of East Peck Street in Compton, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.
Holman was found in a vehicle on Peck Street with multiple gunshot wounds about noon Saturday, authorities said.
He was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, said Sgt. Rich Pena of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.
Authorities suspect a lone gunman was responsible.
