Jimmie Williams, 32

Jimmie Williams, a 32-year-old black man, was shot several times and died Tuesday, Aug. 11. Williams was shot in the 700 block of South Keene Avenue in Compton, according to Los Angeles County coroner's officials.

Ed Winter, a spokesman for the coroner's office, said Williams was standing on a sidewalk about 11:40 p.m. Aug. 10, when a car drove by and someone inside shot at him. He was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 1:02 a.m. the next day, Winter said.
