Jimmy Jackson, a 40-year-old Black man, was shot and killed Wednesday, Aug. 26, in the 1500 block of Plaza del Amo in Harbor Gateway, according to Los Angeles County coroner’s records.

Shortly before 12:30 a.m., Jackson and a group of males were in a carport in the area when there was a dispute, and then gunshots, according to a statement from the Los Angeles Police Department.

Jackson was pronounced dead at the scene at 12:36 a.m., according to coroner’s records.

This area is smack dab right in the heart of ES Torrance 13. These guys been known for shooting blacks for damn near 30yrs! I grew up in this neighborhood. I have no problem with the fellas per se, only when they target innocent people! I truly hope this wasn’t the case. Any suspects? Ever since they slapped the EST’s with an injunction a few years back, the area had gone quiet. But within the last few years I’ve seen more and more tags/graffiti, more ‘homies’ walking around and I’m getting that gut feeling. They hang on plaza Del amo, 224st, 226st, 227st and normandale Park. And with Calif being so expensive and all, I can’t afford to move. Please just let this be a random incident. Please don’t return to how it was!
