Joey Dean Jojola, a 51-year-old white male, died Friday, March 3, after being stabbed in Lancaster, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

I did not know Joey as well as my sister did. He would come hang out at the house and that is how I knew him. But years later he added me on Facebook and from time to time, he would message me to see how I was doing and how she was doing. Nothing special (it seemed at the time) but just seeing how things are going. I will miss those occasional chats. I am still in shock and disbelief that he is no longer with us. So many people are affected by this great loss and words just can't express how horrible this is. It's not right that someone could or would take another persons life. There are people out there who perhaps don't deserve to live. But I'm not judge and jury. Then there are the Joey's of the world. Those who made a good difference in people's lives and who was good and pure and such a loving soul. My prayers go out to his wife and daughter, family members and his vast amount of friends who call themselves his brother or sister. God will prevail, I know. And more importantly, I know we will all see Joey again, in Heaven. Peace and love to you all who are grieving.

Joey was an awesome man with an amazing spirit and soul, he was my and my husbands good friend for 30+ years, proud of his native indian roots and collector of indian items, he was the type of guy that would give you the shirt off his back and we consider him a brother, always kept in touch with us and most friends, we recently enjoyed a birthday pool party over summer, he loved being a Dad and Grandpa, loved outdoor activities and helped lots of people in our community, he always made sure to say right before hanging up the phone with me or my husband
"I love you guys dont, forget to call me once in awhile"....A BIG VOID is left in our hearts and our son and daughters heart and are STILL in shock over the senseless way he left us!!!
I hope the two-time cold blooded killer is locked away for eternity!!!

Joey's brother Randy drives big rigs and he and I would deliver campershells in So. Cal. every week for about a year. We would run hard so we could get ahead on deliveries so we could stop and visit with Joey and Roxy, his wife. We had been doing this for about 3 months, when Joe told us he wanted to learn to play guitar. We just smiled and said "Oh that's nice Joey". Never thinking that he would. He never said anything else about it. About 4 months later, while there visiting, he walks in with a guitar and starts playing. We were shocked. Not only was he playing but he was pretty darn good. Joey had taught himself to play guitar!!! That's just an example of the kind of man he was. Determined, creative, talented also loving kind and compassionate. He never let any obstacle stop him from doing what he wanted to do. This world has lost out on a wonderful kind loving man. He will be greatly missed. All my love. Your Sister in law, Jenn
