John Depizzo, 40

John Depizzo, a 40-year-old white man, died from stab wounds Tuesday, Jan. 3, in the 5900 block of Flambeau Road in Rancho Palos Verdes, according to Los Angeles County coroner's records.

Deprizzo was found dead in his home early Tuesday morning. Lomita deputies responded to a domestic dispute call from a female resident.

The caller was the wife of the deceased, according to a statement by the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

When deputies arrived, Depizzo was found with stab wounds. A butcher knife and handgun were found inside the home.

At the time of the incident, authorities did not know how Depizzo was stabbed.

Coroner's officials have since determined the stab wounds were self-inflicted and Depizzo’s death has been ruled a suicide.

After the man's death, his wife was taken to the hospital and treated for head trauma. Two small children, ages 4 and 7, were taken into protective custody.
